Alexander: Ho Ho Ho!!!
It’s time for a holiday-tastic visit to Disneyland Resort!
There’s plenty to enjoy at Disney during the holiday season, but my personal favorite is it’s a small world holiday (which, at this point, I’d have to say is my absolute #1 favorite Disney attraction).
We were treated to a particularly-special ride on small world (more on that later), so we took the opportunity to do a full write-up on the classic flume’s holiday overlay. Continue reading “Disneyland Christmas & small world holiday Exposé”

Alexander: Time for a quick update from the Happiest Place on Earth, staring our favorite Disneyland roller coaster, Matterhorn Bobsleds!
Zach: While illness prevented us from visiting the Disneyland Resort over the week or so, some spring time sunshine provided for a beautiful (busy) weekend visit. Star Wars Land and Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout construction is coming along quite nicely so we snapped some pictures, but first we start this article with a (not really) Dramatic announcement!
As we’re slowly getting in to adding the Disneyland Resort to our full-time coverage, we will more frequently drop quick updates! Here’s a late February update in which we look around Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland Park and the never-ending refurbishments! 😀
On a lazy weekday in February, we ventured back out to the Disneyland Resort just a few days after the fire scare in the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure. There was no visible closure of any level in Mickey and Friends so it was business as usual at the Resort. Plainly visible, however, was the amount of construction going on around the park and the amount of marketing for AP Days and the return of Main Street Electrical Parade (for a limited time).
Disney is the largely-undisputed theme park king of the planet. The cornerstone of Walt Disney Theme Park success is an ever growing, envelope pushing, industry leading, storytelling (the most important part) attraction lexicon that far outmatches the likes of its competitors. Six unique Disney Resorts play host to a sizable chunk of the world’s greatest, most significant, and/or most successful theme park rides, each playing a specific role within one of the many thematic stories that weave their way through each park’s atmospheric tapestry.
We’re finally back at the Disneyland Resort as the holiday season and crowds are over and done with. A lot has happened in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure since we last had an official update so there’s a lot to cover!
We’ve rated and reviewed many coasters and rides over the last few years, and although we’re usually not fans of listing/ranking rides or parks, we do create an annual California TOP 50! You might, and likely will, disagree, and that’s totally fine! That’s what this TOP 50 is all about! Of the many rides in the state, we selected the 50 we think are best! Here are places 30-21 in the California TOP 50 of 2016!
Although some of the most famous and talked about drops are found on massive roller coasters or drop towers, there’s something uniquely thrilling about a relatively unrestrained drop that ends in a splash, especially on a hot sunny California day. This list will be counting down the top five drops found on water rides throughout our wonderful state of California.
The saying goes that numbers don’t lie, but they don’t always tell the whole truth. Although a towering giant of a coaster can deliver an unforgettable ride experience, sometimes big things come in small packages. That’s exactly what we’re looking at today. Height is just a number, a ride should speak for itself, and that’s exactly what these five coasters under the height of a hundred feet do.
On Saturday January 23rd, several ACE Members/ Film makers premiered their newest work, a wonderful documentary telling the story of one of the most influential theme-park ride and rollercoaster manufacturers the world has ever seen, Arrow. On January 30th, a week later, the crew came down south to Six Flags Magic Mountain to show coaster-fans their work. I was there and must say it was wonderful!
It’s December 31st 2015. It’s hard to believe that another year has passed. 2015 was one heck of a wild ride, what a year it was for us here at California Coaster Kings, and the amusement industry as a whole. Let’s celebrate the great memories of the year past, while also looking for even better things to come. Please join us as we look back at 2015 and all the amazingness it brought and as we look into the magical future of 2016, which seems to be another amazing year for parks and park-goers in California!
As the year comes to a close we took our last Disney trip for the year. Here we saw our last viewings of Aladdin and of Big Thunder Ranch before they close. Here’s quick end of the year update.
With the fanfare wildly expecting the upcoming Star Wars movie, Season of the Force is certainly a popular event. In the meanwhile, Disney’s holiday celebration is what we’ll look at today in a brief update around DCA and a look at the new version of Jedi Trials at Disneyland.
