Well folks, it’s officially ‘Roller Coaster Season’. Theme Parks across America have opened their doors to the public and people are pouring in from miles away. Knott’s Berry Farm felt the force of the Memorial Day weekend, with crowds as large as Halloween Haunt! Knotts Berry Farm was very gracious to give out free admission to our Veterans and Military personnel all Memorial Day weekend. As you’ll see, a lot of people took them up on the offer. Ghost Town Update Memorial Weekend 5-25-2015
It was great to be back at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and such a nice and sunny day. I know everyone is very excited about Twisted Colossus, we are too, but the Boardwalk deserves coverage too, so stick around. It was a pretty crowded day today as expected, and there has actually been quite a lot going on at the park since our last visit, so let’s get started! 
Today, May 23rd 2015, Twisted Colossus officially opened, and Hurricane Harbor opened for the 2015 season. I wanted to experience the crazy opening day of Twisted Colossus, and went to Hurricane Harbor to report on their 2015 Opening Day as well. It was crazy crowded at Twisted Colossus, but rather empty at Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. UPDATE: This post has been updated after I returned later in the day, there’s several new topics discussed. 
We would like to start out by thanking Six Flags Discovery Kingdom very much for inviting us to such a well put together event. We had a fantastic time and got to experience Dare Devil Chaos Coaster for the first time. Just as a prelude to our thoughts on the ride, no matter how you feel about the marketing for it, it is a very fun and thrilling ride that we loved, and I’m sure the general public will as well when it officially opens today. 
Twisted Colossus: perhaps it’s the eight wonder of the world. Perhaps it’s the craziest air-machine in California (who am I kidding… IT IS the craziest air-machine in the state)… This ride has set Six Flags Magic Mountain apart. The ride is crazy, amazing, filled with air-time, but most importantly… FUN. It’s incredibly FUN, besides the thrilling aspects, the ride is just filled with spectacular entertainment when the trains race. Here’s our full Twisted Colossus Ride Review! 
Wow. Where do we begin with this craziness we call Twisted Colossus… I guess Media Day is a great place to start. Before I post a very detailed ride review of Twisted Colossus and a detailed overlook of the new Screampunk District, I’ll be providing a general report of the official opening of the Screampunk District and Twisted Colossus! 
Voyage to the Iron Reef has opened and seems to be a hit with the guests. We personally are a big fan of the ride, for many different reasons. The unique theme of the ride, and the fact that it’s perfect for the line-up of rides at Knott’s, really add to the list of reasons we are a fan of the new addition. Twisted Colossus’ Media Day is tomorrow, the 20th, and then the ride officially opens to the public on Saturday May 23rd! A reader named Garett Simcox was at the commercial shoot the past two days, and he was excited to share his experience and thoughts with us.

We’re less than a week away from the official opening of Twisted Colossus! Now construction of the actual ride has been completed it all looks quite different around the ride. There are some last changes to be made to the new Screampunk District. This update will also include some Hurricane Harbor, general operations, changes around the park, etc! 
We were very thankful to be invited to the official media day event for Knott’s Berry Farm’s newest attraction, Voyage to the Iron Reef. Voyage to the Iron Reef is an interactive 4D dark ride manufactured by the TrioTech, and we honestly really enjoyed it! The event was spectacular and the ride itself far exceeded our expectations as well. The ride officially opened today, on May 15th, but annual pass holders were able to ride during parks hours on the same day as the event, the 13th. 
Springfield officially opened on Tuesday night, and today was one rainy day at Universal Studios Hollywood! The rain didn’t keep us away, and we decided to visit for an update. Summer’s approaching, and there’s lots of prep going on. This update includes Wizarding World of Harry Potter construction and Fast & Furious Supercharged construction! 
It’s been a while since Springfield soft opened to guests visiting Universal Studios Hollywood. Though now, Springfield has been completed entirely and has been officially opened to the public! Like Universal Studios always does, they threw a great opening ‘party’, they called it a ‘Taste of Springfield’ and a taste it was! We got to try out everything and anything! 
Occasionally, when we visit theme parks, we visit one that feels a little out of place. One that lacks an identity, one that lacks what the general public is in general used to. This though doesn’t necessarily mean the park is of lesser quality. In some cases, especially this one, it creates a unique experience for guests. Something that’s quite different than other parks are able to offer.
Ever since the first successful loop in the world premiered here in California, the vertical loop’s been among the most common inversions on coasters around the world. And in all honesty, who isn’t a fan of the Vertical Loop? There are all sorts of them out there. From those that rush through them at high speeds to those that leave riders hanging upside down! In the state of California, we’ve got quite a few loops, all are unique in their own way, let’s see what the 5 best are! 
I had a great time at Disneyland Resort, as usual, and there’s quite some things going on. From Captain EO’s departure, to the Fantasyland construction at the Disneyland Park. And from the remodeling of buildings to the refurbished Soarin’ over California at the Disney California Adventure Park. Check out the update!
