Alex: Months after its original opening date, PortAventura has opened its doors this week with tons of new COVID-19 preventive measures. Bellewaerde Park – Riding Wakala – July 2020
Sven: The Belgian parks got green lit to open on July 1st. What park did we choose to visit first? Well, only Bellewaerde opened with a new coaster this year so that made it easy to choose. You might not have heard of this sister park to Walibi Belgium, Walibi Holland and Parc Astérix but well, here’s your chance to discover the mini Busch Gardens/Animal Kingdom of Belgium.

Parc Astérix – Staying at Les Quais de Lutèce Hotel
Sven: I hope you have already heard of Parc Astérix. It’s the theme park less than an hour away from Disneyland Paris with rides that DLP doesn’t have. Major coasters and 4 water rides! We went for a two day stay and enjoyed their newest hotel: Les Quais de Lutèce. You’ll want to see this!

Walibi Holland – Covid-19 Measures and Speed Zone – June 2020

Alexander: Eager to explore how different parks tackle CDC–based measures for limiting the spread of germs, Sean and I set off for a couple new parks (plus a 3rd, major favorite of ours) opening for the 2020 season.
Kentucky Kingdom Planning RMC Raptor for 2021?
It looks like Kentucky Kingdom had already begun planning their 2021 addition before the Coronavirus pandemic hit. We recently discovered height waivers filed by the park back in February for the addition of a 108ft tall roller coaster not-so-subtly named “Raptor”. As you can see on the document below, the construction was planned to take place from September 2020 until May of 2021.

Permit Shows New Coaster Planned for Six Flags Magic Mountain
Documents have been uncovered on the LA County permitting website that show plans for a new roller coaster for Six Flags Magic Mountain!
