From Southwest to Southeast: Carowinds!

Sean: After riding the World’s fastest, and arguably best, Wooden Coaster a few days prior, it was time to visit the World’s largest Giga Coaster at Carowinds! This park recently received a major facelift from Cedar Fair, one very similar to what California’s Great America is planned to receive in the next few years! The park’s operations were amazing, and the park has a solid line-up of roller coasters! Let’s take a look around the park, shall we?

Disneyland Resort Update – Late March – Early April

Zach: While illness prevented us from visiting the Disneyland Resort over the week or so, some spring time sunshine provided for a beautiful (busy) weekend visit. Star Wars Land and Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout construction is coming along quite nicely so we snapped some pictures, but first we start this article with a (not really) Dramatic  announcement! Continue reading “Disneyland Resort Update – Late March – Early April”

Disneyland Resort Update – February 15th 2017

On a lazy weekday in February, we ventured back out to the Disneyland Resort just a few days after the fire scare in the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure. There was no visible closure of any level in Mickey and Friends so it was business as usual at the Resort. Plainly visible, however, was the amount of construction going on around the park and the amount of marketing for AP Days and the return of Main Street Electrical Parade (for a limited time). Continue reading “Disneyland Resort Update – February 15th 2017”

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Construction Update – February 2017

We were able to visit the Santa Cruz beach Boardwalk earlier this month. Although we got a little backlogged on the update for personal reasons, we were able to snap some photos of the construction site for the new entrance area that’s being built this coming summer, and we’d still like to be able to share that content with you guys. Please enjoy the following rather brief and photo heavy update on the 2017 construction at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

California’s Great America showed off the brand new Patriot trains a while ago, and during the park’s off-season, lots of work has been done to convert Vortex to Patriot. The Stand-Up to Floorless conversion is the second one to take place in the Cedar Fair chain. The park just released a video showing off the cars being placed on the freshly-painted blue tracks! Continue reading “Patriot Trains Are Being Placed on the Tracks at California’s Great America!”

Knott’s Berry Farm Update – February 4th, 2017

It was time to check out the progress made on Knott’s Berry Farm’s current projects, and of course catch a ride on GhostRider that reopened from a refurbishment. There turned out to be a lot to cover in this update, including changes being made to Montezooma’s Revenge, which is looking a lot like a complete repaint to turn the ride to its original gold look.  Continue reading “Knott’s Berry Farm Update – February 4th, 2017”

Raphael’s Banshee-filled Kings Island Adventure!

Our Brazilian friend Raphael’s back with the fourth report of his 2016 travels to the US! Let’s hit up… KINGS ISLAND!

You know that your day is going to be special when you arrive at one of the best-known theme parks ever and the music that is playing is “Don’t Stop Believing” by the Glee Cast (which happens to be my favorite TV series of all time). That is how Kings Island welcomed me. I felt a lot more excited than I thought I would be, and Invertigo doing its thing next to me gave me the energy to run through the gates, grab my FastLane Plus and go to Banshee, my first coaster of the day. Universal Studios Hollywood – SOLD OUT – Park Update!

After wrapping up some Holiday-related trips it was time to head back to Universal Studios Hollywood for a few hours! And I only stayed for a few hours indeed, as upon arrival it became terrifyingly clear I was here on the wrong day. It took about an hour to enter the park, and by the time I left a few hours later, the park had sold out for the day! Let’s take a look at construction around the park, and some crowd-pics!  Continue reading “Universal Studios Hollywood – SOLD OUT – Park Update!”
