Shanghai Disneyland in the Snow
Alexander: Ni hao!
Welcome to a very special Disney update!
Those of you who follow us on social media may be aware of a little Shanghai, China trip we took at the end of last month. While this was my 2nd time visiting Shanghai Disneyland, it was a new Disney Resort for Sean (his 2nd ever, after Disneyland Resort Anaheim).
Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America – Trip Report!
Sean: It has been a dream of me to actually visit the Mall of America, and everything fell into place to visit one of the world’s most famous indoor theme parks, which happens to call the largest mall in the US its home. Nickelodeon Universe opened as Knott’s Camp Snoopy in 1992, and has since seen quite some changes to become the brightly colored indoor wonderland that it is today. Let’s take a look shall we? The California Top 10 of 2017!
Sean + Alexander: Annually we have released a full California Top 50, but we decided to take it down a notch and really focus on what the top 10 best coasters in the state are, and why we think so. This year brought us Patriot, the state’s only major new coaster experience of the year, but every year again we completely find a new ranking appropriate. So sit back, and enjoy our end-of-the-year coverage finishing with The California Top 10 of 2017! Continue reading “The California Top 10 of 2017!”
The 5 Best First Drops in California
Sean: What makes the best first impression on a coaster, and what makes the best last impression? That’s what we’re looking at this month. Last month we discussed the 5 Best Finales on Coasters in California, this time we’re taking a look at the best first drops around the state! Sadly some of our favorite first drops in the state, such as Perilous Plunge and Deja Vu, are no longer around, we have gained some incredible new first drops in the past few years that have made the list. Let’s look at a nice variety of drops that we find to be 5 of the best first drops in California! Continue reading “The 5 Best First Drops in California”
Six Flags St. Louis Freeze-tacular
Alexander: Who’s ready for another layover adventure??
This time my work brings me to St. Louis, where Sean and I were able to enjoy what is arguably the most underrated Six Flags park.
Coaster wind-chill was below freezing, but that didn’t stop us from having a Freeze-tacular Six Flags day!
Floorless Ninja: How Vekoma Trains Could Elevate the Blackbelt of Coasters
Alexander: Here at CCK, we love Ninja. It’s one of our favorite coasters in California, and a must-ride on every visit to Magic Mountain.
We are also huge Arrow Dynamics fans in general and are positively enamored with Arrow Suspended coasters. The 5 Arrow Suspended coasters still in operation are my favorite coasters at their respective parks (yes, even Cedar Point’s Iron Dragon)

County Fairs of SoCal: Orange County Fair & Ventura County Fair
Alexander: State Fair and County Fair season is a great time to be a coaster enthusiast; lots of opportunities for new credits pop up in places that wouldn’t otherwise play host to a roller coaster, let alone three or four.
Southern California is no stranger to numerous coasters, but during late summer/early fall, several traveling credits take up temporary residence. Today we’re visiting two of California’s largest county fairs, The Orange County Fair and the Ventura County Fair.

Darien Lake & Fantasy Island – CCK & CCCK Take the Northeast – Pt. 7 & Pt. 8
Alexander: It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you the parks of Buffalo, NY.
(Just kidding. No it doesn’t)
With oddball regional parks, you roll the dice. Sometimes you win (Seabreeze), sometimes you lose (Dorney Park), and sometimes the dice spontaneously catch fire and explode (Buffalo Parks).
Shall we dive right in? Continue reading “Darien Lake & Fantasy Island – CCK & CCCK Take the Northeast – Pt. 7 & Pt. 8”
Seabreeze – CCK & CCCK Take the Northeast – Pt. 6

This classic coaster gem is a must-see for any coaster historian. Half of their roller coasters sport very unique and significant historic designations!

Dorney Park – CCK & CCCK Take the Northeast – Pt. 3
Sean: The third park on our 10-park tour was the Cedar Fair property with three inverted coasters! (Sadly Possessed was closed all day). Let’s find out what else makes this park so unique! Continue reading “Dorney Park – CCK & CCCK Take the Northeast – Pt. 3”
