Alexander: Welcome all to Cabin Crew Coaster Kings’ coverage of the American Coaster Enthusiasts’ annual roller coaster convention, Coaster Con!
It’s ACE’s 40th Anniversary, so the convention is being hosted where the club began: Virginia (Six Flags America is also part of the itinerary, located in nearby Maryland).
After picking up our registration packets and reuniting with some of the hundreds of folks I’ve been riding coasters with the last several years, we set out for Six Flags America. Continue reading “Six Flags America – Coaster Con XLI”
Alexander: Holiday World in Santa Claus, Indiana is an iconic brand in the American theme park landscape, famous for its friendly staff, spotless midways, excellent value, enormous water park, and stellar collection of modern wooden coasters.
Holiday World’s reputation is often louder than the park itself; the moves they make at this point are often not as boisterous as the enthusiast communities’ response to them. Everything – from management conflict to new rides – has been hotly discussed over the last 15+ years or so, and whether one’s opinion is positive or negative, it goes without saying that opinions of Holiday World are often strong ones. Continue reading “LOLiday World”
Alex: One of the most exciting times for theme park fans is Halloween. It is the season where parks transform themselves to create the most terrifying experience to their guests. Even though its still far away, the preparations are well on its way. But something new is coming… Continue reading “Horrorland: The New and Exciting Scream Park in Spain”
Alexander: After a trip of wins, we finally took a loss on the final parks of our Europe tour, Disneyland Park Paris and Walt Disney Studios.
While Efteling, Walibi, De Warbeek, Slagharen, Movie Park, and Phantasialand (swoon) all shattered expectations, Disneyland Paris Resort showed us why it’s the weakest link in Disney’s 6-link chain. Continue reading “Disneyland Paris Resort”
Sean: This is a good year for the Californian Cedar Fair parks! Both Knott’s Berry Farm and California’s Great America are opening world-class coasters this year. HangTime is a Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster and opened at Knott’s Berry Farm this week as California’s first Dive Coaster! This is the park’s biggest coaster addition in the 14 years, and of course that was reason for a party! Continue reading “HangTime, California’s First Dive Coaster, Opens at Knott’s Berry Farm”
Sean: Six Flags Magic Mountain was so kind to invite us to their next CraZanity construction tour, we were unable to make it, but our great friend Edward at Ride! was able to attend and create a report for us! Enjoy! Edward: Hello, we’re back at the mountain for an all-new construction tour of CraZanity and The Boardwalk! Much has changed since the last tour we had a couple months back. The park is still on schedule with opening the new area and should be ready this summer. Continue reading “CraZanity and Boardwalk Backstage Tour at Six Flags Magic Mountain – May 2018”
Sean: In this installment of our journey to some of Europe’s unique theme parks, we visit another old home park of mine, one of which I spent quite a bit of my childhood at! Movie Park Germany! Another ex-Six Flags park that had a serious identity crisis for a bit, but is now doing much better! Let’s take a look! Continue reading “Operation: Movie Park Germany”
Alexander: Hello again, peeps!
The shortest update of our Europe visit is Attractiepark Slagharen. We only spent an hour and a half at this little park (the rest of the day was spent at Movie Park Germany), but what a gem this place is! Continue reading “Slagharen”
Sean: One of Europe’s best known theme-parks is the Efteling, which opened as a nature driven park in 1935 and then was launched as a fairy-tale forest in 1952. Now, 66 years later it is one of the most infamous attractions in The Netherlands with some of the world’s best rides! Let’s see what makes Efteling so incredibly unique… Continue reading “Distinctly Dutch, Authentically Efteling”
Sean: We have traveled to quite a few parks around the world and we got the conclusion that we like Phantasialand the best. Not only is this park a thematic wonder world, it is a heaven for coaster enthusiasts too. The park is home to (arguably) the best Inverted Coaster, Multi-Launch Coaster, Spinning Coaster and Mine Train, while offering some of the best themed-settings this world has ever seen. Continue reading “Phantasialand: Disney, but Better”
Alexander: Who’s ready for some themed-area nirvana?
Phantasialand in Brühl, Germany is famous for its detailed environs, top-notch entertainment, and unparalleled collection of roller coasters. In 2016, however, Phantasialand’s already stellar status pierced the stratosphere with the unveiling of their magnum opus: a basalt-laiden norse wonderland called “Klugheim.”

Alexander: It’s Spring in SoCal, and you know what that means! It’s Boysenberry time at Knott’s Berry Farm! Every year at the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival, countless boysen-based food items are offered to hungry guests, each lovingly crafted by Knott’s Berry Farm’s enormous food service team!

For a limited time, guests can experience the new DC SUPER HEROES Drop of Doom VR. Continue reading “Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom to Feature DC Super Heroes VR”
Sean: As you may know we visited Shanghai Disneyland a few weeks back, and we had an absolutely amazing time. Instead of a trip report, I decided to make it a bit more structural and discuss each of the 6 themed lands at Shanghai Disneyland, their attractions, and my thoughts on them! Continue reading “A Look At Shanghai Disneyland”
Sean: It has been a few weeks since I traveled across the globe in search for an exciting roller coaster that not many people have had the chance to ride, but that everyone is already obsessed with. My travels took me to Shanghai Disneyland, which is home to TRON: Lightcycle Power Run. Perhaps the best coaster Disney has ever opened. Continue reading “The World isn’t Good Enough for TRON: Lightcycle Power Run, but Walt Disney World Might Be.”
Alexander: Hey, peeps! Let’s get wet!
Our little 3-park trip to Orlando actually started here at Sea World Orlando; the park was Sean’s top priority for his first visit to Florida.
We’re awfully fond of our SeaWorld here in Southern California – how would Sea World Parks’ most prominent park compare?
Continue reading “Sailing into SeaWorld Orlando”
Sean: One of my all-time favorite parks on this planet turns out to be Busch Gardens Tampa. Located only about an hour away from the major Orlando theme parks, Busch Gardens does a spectacular job offering an experience that is unique, and does so in a classic, clean, well-maintained setting. In addition to which the park also features some of the continent’s best coasters. Join us as we take a look at this massive Busch Gardens park! Continue reading “Journey to Busch Gardens Tampa”
Sean: People travel to Orlando for large resorts and parks like Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando, but what makes Orlando such a great region after the major parks close for the day? Fun Spot America! These new smaller amusement parks offer clean, laid back, and thrilling fun. As we were in the region we decided to check out the smaller parks that people may some times forget about, Fun Spot America in Kissimmee and Fun Spot America in Orlando! Continue reading “The Amazing Fun Spot America Parks”
McLaren: Today we had the opportunity to take an even closer look at HangTime’s progress as we inch closer to its opening date. Recently, the last piece of track was put into place, which is totally exciting for most of us, but it is only the beginning as we continue in the process of testing, working out bugs in the system, and adding tedious, yet essential details. While we are still unaware of when exactly the ride will welcome the general public, we were able to have a clearer vision of what this ride has to offer come early this summer. Continue reading “HangTime Backstage Tour at Knott’s Berry Farm – March 2018”
Sean: Lunar New Year is not celebrated by all parks, but major players like SeaWorld San Diego, Disneyland Resort, and Universal Studios Hollywood do love to celebrate. This has been a very successful January for the park, and we thought it was a great time to show you a bit of the event. Thanks to a reader for helping with the visuals!
