California Coaster Kings attended the Opening Night of this year’s Fright Fest at Six Flags Magic Mountain! Thanks to the Express maze-passes we manage to visit all shows, all mazes, and all Scare Zones! This year’s event had 7 Scare Zones. In this particular review article, we’re looking at the 7 Scare Zones the event had this year. 
I had the chance to step by Universal Studios Hollywood for most of the day. It was a tad busier than I anticipated, nonetheless, I had a great time! It’s been a little while since our non-Halloween Horror Nights related work has gone LIVE, so here is an update filled with Jurassic Park- The Ride upgrades, new/renovated buildings, Studio Tour renovations, and of course the almighty Wizarding World of Harry Potter. 
While the Disney/Star Wars enthusiasts count down the days until Season of the Force next month as well as Christmas Time coming around (yes…I’ve already mentioned Christmas on the second of October… :D). But first, Disney during Halloween Time is still pretty awesome in its own right. Today there was a hint of fall in the air, otherwise it kept with the theme of the recent warm weather. The park wasn’t exactly at its busiest throughout the day except rides were having occasional “technical difficulties”.

California’s Great America officially announced their 2016 addition in which they will be partnering with with Electronic Arts (EA) and BioWare to completely renovate the Action Theater into a brand new 4D experience in the Mass Effect canon. Guests will strap in and battle breath taking intergalactic enemies on their immersive 4D journey through the expansive Mass Effect universe.

Not only did we hit Six Flags but we went to Disney as well. Since our last visit two weeks a LOT of the park has been decorated. It’s practically “Halloween Time”!! (Technically it’s two weeks away but the premier attractions, Haunted Mansion Holiday and Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy, are already up and running.) The weather was cloudy and muggy, but nonetheless better than the extreme heat we’ve faced over the last week. *WARNING There will be a spam of Haunted Mansion Photos 🙂
Today’s was an interesting day at Six Flags Magic Mountain, it felt like Florida with the humidity, and West Coast Bash was going on! In addition Fright Fest preparations are in full swing, in fact there’s Fright Fest theming popping up everywhere! And what would a Six Flags Magic Mountain be without some New Revolution stuff? 
On National Roller Coaster Day (August 16th) 2015, the iconic Roar Wooden Roller Coaster closed at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Roar was the very first wooden coaster to utilize GCI’s Millennium Flyer trains. These trains allowed for tighter curves, quicker drops, and a twistier layout. After this revolutionary wooden coaster’s 16 years at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, it’s now closed for good. On September 3rd of 2015, a few days back, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom announced that Roar would be turned into the newest Rocky Mountain Construction Iron Horse Treatment Hybrid Coaster named: The Joker. – We all saw this Rocky Mountain Construction enhancement coming, and we’ve published a few articles about it before. – The Joker is a very interesting RMC Iron Horse since it’s the first ‘modern’ wooden coaster to receive this transformation. And just like the park it belongs in, it looks like it’ll be very unique. 
In this awesome state with a huge variety of different parks and coasters, we’re very fortunate to have a bunch of different launches. Whether it’s hydraulic, LIM, LSM, or Fly-Wheel, we’ve got it all in this state! Where as some states lack launches, we’ve got some that launch you up in the sky, into pitch black Egyptian tombs, or backwards through rare elements. In fact, there are a total of 10 Launch Coasters in California, with a total of 17 launches! Let’s check out the 5 Best Launches in California!

I was lucky to have a free day today, and the park was actually open this Friday for Labor Day weekend. So, guess where I went. Magic Mountain. It was actually a bit busier than I expected with a couple of lines throughout the park. But I still got some rides in on Twisted Colossus.
