Traveling the Globe for the Best Coasters and Theme Parks
Sean: This will likely be the least conventional post on the website so far. Unlike every other post, this will not be about a theme park nor a place that features a roller coaster. Instead, this report is about one of our favorite aquariums. The Port of Nagoya (Public) Aquarium is a combination of a state-of-the-art marine life park/stadium and a classic aquarium! Alexander: We’re back in Tokyo to check out one of the city’s largest parks, Yomiuriland. Located next to the Yomiuri Giants baseball stadium, Yomiuriland has an enormous spread of quirky and notable attractions.

Alexander: The day before Typhoon Trami made landfall, we visited two unique parks in Nagoya. Things didn’t exactly go as planned, but we had a great day anyway!
Sven: We just came back from the UK trip of 2018 for theme park fans: Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Alton Towers. These two big parks both opened a brand new coaster this year and so we could not resist paying them a visit. But which one of the two is the best according to us: Icon or Wicker Man? Alexander: I wish I could say that the first official park of the East Meets Ace tour was a great park, but Tobu Zoo is not a great park.
While the park has an enjoyable lineup of attractions, and management was kind enough to welcome us with ERT, the “zoo” part of the park is enough to prevent us from coming back any time soon.
Alex: Halloween is an exciting time for theme parks and guests alike. This American tradition is already spreading out at every corner of the world, and Spain is getting their first scream park this year. Horrorland opened its doors this week and we were invited to their pre-opening event!
Sean: Prior to this trip to Asia I had heard few things from Ocean Park. I had seen videos of their coasters, and of course knew all about their Arrow looper, but besides that I was unaware of the magnitude of this place. Clearly Ocean Park was Hong Kong’s only major park prior to Disneyland opening in 2005. Ocean Park sits on a mountain over the ocean and is one of the most breathtaking theme parks in the world. Nick: Busch Gardens invited us to the opening night media party for this year’s Howl-o-Scream, so my good friend Lars and I headed down to Tampa to check it out! Nick: Infinity Falls doesn’t officially open until October 4th, but on Friday, September 28th SeaWorld announced that the ride would have a soft opening period beginning that afternoon. Derrion: We had a blast attending this years media night for Knott’s Scary Farm! I’m always excited for the park at this time of year because they have one of the oldest running horror themed events for an amusement park. Knott’s Scary Farm holds a special place in my heart because I grew up attending the event with my family. This update will focus on a review of all the mazes and other additions to this years Knott’s Scary Farm .

Alexander: Generally, when planning a visit to Walt Disney World, a stay-length of 3 days minimum is what people consider (because 1 & 2 day passes aren’t exactly a great value – the longer you stay, the cheaper each day is). But what if you had just *1* day to pile on Walt Disney World’s highlights?
Upon being gifted 2 “Magic Your Way” 1-day passes (during a quick visit from our native LA), Sean and I did just that: Walt Disney World in ONE DAY! This was Sean’s first time at any of WDW’s 4 parks, and our goal was to hit as many of the resort’s coasters and signature rides as possible! Let’s GO!
