Alexander: Our Preservation Conference continued to the final host park, Six Flags Over Georgia, and with it came more than a little rainfall. It was simply too wet to have the camera out until after dinner, which took place in the picnic grove behind Blue Hawk.

I was able to thank Six Flags Over Georgia park president Dale Kaetzel for choosing to remodel Ninja into Blue Hawk instead of scrapping it.
Blue Hawk was a project that Dale himself had pushed for despite some skepticism from his team. The risk of re-investing in the ride has paid off, however, as Dale informed me that Blue Hawk now has the highest ridership of any traditional looping coaster in the Six Flags chain.
Still a bit soggy but eager to ride, Six Flags escorted us to the U.S.A. & Gotham City areas of the park for ERT on each of the area’s roller coasters.
The Justice Friends are was still offering a few last-minute thrills before park close.

I’m pleased to report that Mindbender was running 2 trains for us. I hadn’t personally seen 2 train operation on the ride since 2014.
DareDevil Dive struggled to operate in the evening drizzle, but I think everyone in attendance was able to get a ride on it at some point.
The next morning we were treated to a preview of Justice League: Battle For Metropolis prior to its grand opening the following week.
It was nice to experience the ride in English after having my first ride on it at Six Flags Mexico. It’s a pretty solid ride, but I’m not certain if Six Flags parks will be disciplined enough to keep these rides in good shape over time.
Next we dedicated a plaque to the Great American Scream Machine. This marked the first time that two roller coasters were commemorated at a single Preservation Conference.
After the plaque dedication was lunch, which meant some good weather opportunities to capture Blue Hawk from the picnic grove.
We didn’t stick around the park much after lunch due to our eagerness to head up to the Great Smoky Mountains early for our Dollywood visit the next day.
However we snatch rides on most of the park’s coasters, plus rerides on Blue Hawk of course.
And that concludes the ACE Preservation Conference!
