Sean: It’s time for a very quick Universal Studios Hollywood Update! First off it’s summer, and as July is right around the corner the park is expected to get very crowded, very soon! In this quick update we’ll discuss some Wizarding World of Harry Potter changes, movie promotions at City Walk, Halloween Horror Nights preparation, and a whole lot more!
– Over the years, many of our images have popped up on other sites and forums, awesome that our coverage spreads, not so awesome that not everyone mentioned where they got the images from. We are totally fine with our audience using our images, BUT ONLY IF credit is given to californiacoasterkings.com. Thank you! –
The great thing about summer starting, is that all restaurants and shops are open around the park! The park is much livelier (definitely crowd wise) during this time of year, though the park has attracted crowds in recent years that are almost too large for the relatively small park!
We’re not going to lie, we have totally played at the Super Silly Funland water playground before.
From near the playground you get a great look of the Sound stages that have been removed. Creating space for future theme park expansion.
Also down there, we find the construction of one of the park’s Halloween Horror Nights mazes, they are adding a The Shining maze this year and I am so excited!
When summer rolls around it also means that the park is presenting guests the Nighttime Studio Tour! #DinoAttack
On the backlot Six Points Texas is now part of the Studio Tour again, after recent renovations of the oldest part of the studios.
THE BATES MOTEL!
One of our favorite Nighttime Studio Tour sets is the set of War of the Worlds, because lights and fog and crashed airplanes just about sums up haunt season and traveling. 😛
The Fast & Furious Supercharged attraction is the most realistic attraction for the Nighttime Studio Tour. Since the last new addition to the Studio Tour was 2015, I wonder if the park is adding anything new anytime soon.
Can we all appreciate how Transformers The Ride – 3D had a 3 hour line and closed the single rider line for that reason, while The Revenge of the Mummy and Jurassic Park casually hosted 35 minutes and 15 minutes lines, respectively? Perhaps the new movie encourages guests to ride the ride so much more!
IS THAT THE NEW NIGHT TIME SHOW AT THE WIZARDING WORLD OF HARRY POTTER? Yes it sure is! Unfortunately both showings of the show reached full capacity of the themed land, meaning many guests were forced to watch it from the entrance of the park.
Just a few days ago there were reports of the park having brought back Hot Butterbeer, as well as new vegetarian options at the Three Broomsticks, something the restaurant lacked. (Not very clever in Southern California). We can’t wait to come back and watch the Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle again!
Speaking of Transformers The Ride 3D, an Optimus Prime truck is on display in front of the Cinemas at City Walk!
Let’s finish off this update with a shot of the Slytherin snake section of the Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle! Stay tuned for more Universal Studios Hollywood coverage soon!
