Alexander: It’s been six weeks since Six Flags Magic Mountain began 365-day operations. Have you been out to the park recently to enjoy the light crowds?
Lots of changes are already underway to help ensure an optimal 2018 and beyond at Magic Mountain, but there’s also lots of opportunities for improvement.
Shanghai Disneyland in the Snow
Alexander: Ni hao!
Welcome to a very special Disney update!
Those of you who follow us on social media may be aware of a little Shanghai, China trip we took at the end of last month. While this was my 2nd time visiting Shanghai Disneyland, it was a new Disney Resort for Sean (his 2nd ever, after Disneyland Resort Anaheim).

Alexander: Another day, another slew of changes for Disneyland Resort.
After a lovely visit to Knott’s Berry Farm to cover Hang Time as it rapidly approaches completion, we hopped over to Disneyland Resort to see how things are doing post-holidays 2017.
(spoiler alert: everything is a mess)

Nickelodeon Universe at the Mall of America – Trip Report!
Sean: It has been a dream of me to actually visit the Mall of America, and everything fell into place to visit one of the world’s most famous indoor theme parks, which happens to call the largest mall in the US its home. Nickelodeon Universe opened as Knott’s Camp Snoopy in 1992, and has since seen quite some changes to become the brightly colored indoor wonderland that it is today. Let’s take a look shall we? The California Top 10 of 2017!
Sean + Alexander: Annually we have released a full California Top 50, but we decided to take it down a notch and really focus on what the top 10 best coasters in the state are, and why we think so. This year brought us Patriot, the state’s only major new coaster experience of the year, but every year again we completely find a new ranking appropriate. So sit back, and enjoy our end-of-the-year coverage finishing with The California Top 10 of 2017! Continue reading “The California Top 10 of 2017!”
Six Flags Magic Mountain Update – December 29th 2017
Sean: I may live next to Six Flags Magic Mountain, and visit quite frequently, but with the holidays, travels across the country and the state, it has been a while that we actually got an update for you all. NASCAR Speed Park Trip Report
Alexander: Following our ideal Dollywood day, Sean and I popped over to nearby NASCAR Speed Park so that Sean could get a ride on the park’s resident coaster, Speedway Drift.
NASCAR Speed Park was so kind to host us during our visit (especially since it’s a very expensive coaster credit), but we have some concerns about the park’s future. We hope that, if nothing else, their good customer service can keep them afloat.
WinterFest at California’s Great America – 2017!
Sean: WinterFest has returned for a second year and has proven to be fair competition with the rest of the state’s major Holiday events, managing to offer a unique experience while limiting guests to just three of the park’s major coasters. The event offers quality entertainment, awesome lights all around the event, and unique attractions such as ice skating, character meet ‘n greets and faux snow of course! McLaren and I hit up the event, and would love to show off what the event has to offer! Oh and there’s a little RailBlazer construction for you all. Continue reading “WinterFest at California’s Great America – 2017!”

Disneyland Christmas & small world holiday Exposé
Alexander: Ho Ho Ho!!!
It’s time for a holiday-tastic visit to Disneyland Resort!
There’s plenty to enjoy at Disney during the holiday season, but my personal favorite is it’s a small world holiday (which, at this point, I’d have to say is my absolute #1 favorite Disney attraction).
We were treated to a particularly-special ride on small world (more on that later), so we took the opportunity to do a full write-up on the classic flume’s holiday overlay. Continue reading “Disneyland Christmas & small world holiday Exposé”
