We told you we would be back to cover more Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, and so here we are, bringing you all the Holiday minutiae you could possibly want for our part two in the coverage of 2015’s magical event. Here’s Six Flags Discovery Kingdom’s Holiday in the Park 2015 – PART 2!
First off, the sheer number of lights has been stepped up majorly this year. Just about everywhere you look, the surrounding landscaping is draped in lights.
This includes the themed areas. Candy Cane Lane has had the surrounding trees done up very nicely in red and white this year, giving the area a lot more energy.
In Toy Land, the walls in the area have been covered in multi colored lights, adding a lot of festivity.
In Christmas Tree Forest, about every fifth tree or so has white lights rather than colored.
This year, for just five dollars, guests can take a horse drawn sleigh ride through a closed off section of the park.
The wood burning fireplaces have of course returned much to our delight. Seeing as it does get down into the 40’s some nights, it’s a very practical attraction.
Medusa has received lift hill lights as well as some new light up angels.
It’s really amazing that Wonderland Mountain maintains such short lines for the sledding. The park handles this unique attraction very well.
Next to the sledding hill is a snow play area which kids were thoroughly enjoying.
The park runs Drench even through the night during Holiday Season which is really nice to see.
Also in the area is Santa’s Workshop where kids are given the opportunity to meet and take pictures with Santa.
Lastly, I’d like to point out how amazing yet unspoken about the light choreography in the midway behind the sharks. All the trees are draped in white lights and flash brilliantly in an otherwise very dark area to a holiday soundtrack. Dazzle is a very cool experience, but this is such an empty and dark area I can’t help but love every bit of this attraction.
That about wraps up our part two for our Discovery Kingdom Holiday in the Park coverage. READ PART ONE HERE (includes rating of the event).
