Alexander: The day has finally come! Universal Orlando Resort is the first park to begin their staged-reopening, starting with CityWalk! Let’s take a look at all the changes in place!
– In the past, many of our images have been posted, featured, and shared on forums, social media platforms and websites around the web. We work hard to provide the coverage that we do, and we encourage our audience to share our content and use our images, BUT ONLY IF proper credit is given to thecoasterkings.com. Thank you! –
Universal appears to have taken all CDC guidelines into account, including mask requirements, distancing guidelines, and strenuous cleaning.
Before entering the security checkpoint in the rotunda, guests pass through a temperature checkpoint.
After passing thru security, we practiced some social distancing on the moving walkways that lead to CityWalk.
It may look quiet, but this was just as the area was opening up for guests. By the time we left, the place was hoppin’!
There was some live entertainment in place to greet guests.
A few shops and restaurants were ready to accept guests!
There’s also a major construction project taking place on the site of several former retail spots.
Lots of folks came out to get their Voodoo Donut fix.
We checked out the park entrances as we walked around all the accessible areas.
Lots of other bloggers were out and about getting their signature shots!
We made our way back around IOA’s entrance and over to Margaritaville.
Margaritaville is the first table service restaurants to reopen.
All of the necessary precautions appeared to be in effect.
Other areas of CityWalk remain quiet as their businesses have yet to reopen.
In the mood for mini golf? Half of Hollywood Drive-In Golf is ready to roll!
Perhaps the biggest draw as of now is the Universal Studios store.
People were being let into the shop incrementally, per CDC guidelines.
Changes include new sales, CDC guideline reminders, and merch for the new Borne show as well as Trolls World Tour.
On our way out we saw the other side of the golf course getting ready to open!
Finally, we noticed some Mardi Gras bead trees glistening in the sun.
Even with not much going on, CityWalk felt like an amazing way to kill an hour after being cooped up at home for two months! Great work, Universal!
