Last Friday, May 12th, Parque Warner Madrid invited us to the opening event of their new roller coaster “Batman Gotham City Escape”. It was an exclusive event filled with surprises, excitement, and anticipation that we had the opportunity to experience firsthand. Below, I will share all the details of my experience.

ARRIVAL AT THE PARK
From the moment I arrived at the park, I knew it was going to be an unforgettable night. Although the meteorological conditions weren’t the best, with wind and threatening dark clouds, the weather eventually cooperated, and the event was able to proceed as planned. As I entered the park through the annual pass entrance, I could see the magnificence of the new roller coaster “Batman Gotham City Escape” towering proudly on the vibrant and colorful main avenue of the park, Hollywood Boulevard, themed after the golden age of Hollywood.
The first part of the afternoon was dedicated to taking photos and videos, capturing every detail of the new attraction. Additionally, I took the opportunity to ride one of my favorites in Parque Warner, the floorless coaster “Superman: La Atracción de Acero” to get warmed up. During my journey through the park, I saw several famous personalities from the world of television, influencers, and coaster enthusiast vloggers, both national and international, who also attended the event. The new roller coaster “Batman Gotham City Escape” generated great anticipation worldwide.
After riding Superman, I headed to the park area where the event’s photocall was located, the new Parque Robinson (Robinson Park) area, in the Gotham City section. As I made my way there, I witnessed the pre-inauguration tests of the roller coaster. It was impressive to see the trains themed like the Batmobile culminate the 45-meter-high top hat at speeds exceeding 100 km/h.
PHOTOCALL
Once at the photocall, we were greeted by iconic DC Comics superheroes and villains such as Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Joker, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman. The entire staff of Parque Warner made every effort to ensure that all attendees were well taken care of and felt comfortable. The atmosphere was relaxed, cheerful, and pleasant, with palpable energy in the air.
SPEECHES AND INAUGURAL SHOW
Before the inauguration of the new roller coaster, speeches were given by Arantxa Orusco (PR and Communications of Parque Warner, Parque Atracciones Madrid, and Aquópolis), Diego Gracia (Director of Parque Warner), and Pascal Ferracci (CEO of Parques Reunidos). During the speeches, significant quotes were highlighted.

Diego Gracia, on the other hand, expressed gratitude to the Parque Warner team:

After the speeches, the “Gotham City Stunt Show” was performed, which had not been presented for several months due to the construction works of the new roller coaster. This show is an exciting display of acrobatics and action that transports viewers into the dangerous and fascinating world of Gotham City. Iconic characters such as Batman, Joker, Harley Quinn, and Robin participate in thrilling chases, daring jumps, explosions, and adrenaline-filled scenes, providing an experience full of excitement and entertainment for all attendees.
I was pleasantly surprised by the seamless integration of both the roller coaster and the new store “Ace Chemical”, the queues, and the pre-show buildings with the rest of the Gotham City area. The original soundtrack adds an extra level of excitement to the atmosphere.
THE ROLLER COASTER
Finally, the moment we had all been waiting for arrived: riding “Batman Gotham City Escape.” Since it was an exclusive event, there was practically no queue for the roller coaster, so as soon as I passed through the entrance arch to Wayne Manor’s Gardens, it was almost my turn to enter the mansion.
The attraction’s story begins with the pretext that Bruce Wayne (aka Batman) is offering a day of free guided tours at his mansion. The mansion’s gardens and the mansion itself are beautiful and imposing. Once we entered the mansion, I was pleasantly surprised because we found ourselves in a grand library, meticulously decorated with books, sculptures, models, paintings, and a large fireplace adorned with a portrait of the Wayne family. As our group had already dispersed throughout the vast room, a welcome video began to play, which was interrupted by the Joker.
After the Joker’s interruption in the mansion’s library, we were guided through secret corridors to the impressive Batcave.
This immersive setting transports visitors into the world of Batman in an unprecedented way, with every detail carefully designed to recreate the atmosphere of the iconic superhero movies.
As we made our way through the secret corridors of the Batcave, we encountered another surprise: an abandoned Gotham Metro station, meticulously themed and filled with lighting effects and a powerful soundtrack. This is where the roller coaster station is located, with trains simulating the iconic Batmobile. The excitement overflowed as we boarded the roller coaster.
Once the train started moving we were treated to another pre-show, this time even more spectacular. The Joker comes to life through an impressive animatronic, and in the blink of an eye, we find ourselves catapulted at a dizzying speed of 54 km/h.
The combination of meticulous theming, exciting pre-shows, and the intense roller coaster makes “Batman Gotham City Escape” an unforgettable experience for Batman fans and theme park enthusiasts. From the moment you cross the threshold of the mansion to the roller coaster, every detail has been carefully crafted to provide total immersion in the world of Batman and the thrill of battling the Joker.
With its immersive and thrilling story, “Batman Gotham City Escape” not only stands out as an exciting attraction but also as a narrative experience that transports visitors through the iconic settings of Gotham City. The combination of Bruce Wayne’s mansion, the library, the Batcave, the metro station, and the roller coaster creates a unique and thrilling journey that captivates both Batman fans and theme park enthusiasts alike.
Personally, I was pleasantly surprised by the combination of intensity and comfort that “Batman Gotham City Escape” offers. Throughout the ride, you experience up to 12 moments of mostly ejector airtime, where you feel like you’re about to be launched out of your seat multiple times. Additionally, the attraction offers stunning views of the park and features theming elements that make it truly unique.
BATMAN: GOTHAM CITY ESCAPE POV

First Launch
Although not reaching extreme speeds, is quite intense and sets the perfect tone for the roller coaster, especially when combined with the pre-show scene.
Top Hat
Located at the highest point of the attraction, offers spectacular views of the entire Parque Warner before a 45-meter drop with a 98-degree angle. In the back rows of the train, you experience a significant sensation of airtime.
Near Miss Element
Another striking moment is the near miss in the trenches of Parque Robinson. At a high speed, it’s thrilling to narrowly dodge the tunnel roof at the last moment, providing an intense feeling of ejector airtime.
Third Launch
Although not the fastest on the roller coaster, significantly increases the speed and catapults you towards one of the most impressive elements: the Zero-G Stall.
Zero-G Stall
During this element, it feels like the train momentarily stops while flipping upside down, creating an incredible sensation of hanging upside down over the streets of Gotham City.
Overall, the experience of “Batman Gotham City Escape” is thrilling from start to finish. The pacing of the ride is excellent, with no dull moments, and constantly surprises with changes in G-forces and inversions. Additionally, the harnesses offer spectacular freedom and add an extra dose of excitement. The combination of intensity, comfort, and themed elements makes this roller coaster a unique experience.
It’s important to highlight that “Batman Gotham City Escape” is a multi-launch LSM (magnetic propulsion system) roller coaster manufactured by the Swiss company Intamin, designed by Parque Warner Madrid in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment and P&P Projects.
The attraction features four inversions and twelve moments of airtime. The three launches, corkscrew, top-hat, camelback, reverse sidewinder, another corkscrew, Zero-G Stall, and Spike stand out. The top hat is particularly striking due to its position and the fact that it can be seen from the park’s main entrance, offering a spectacular view. The Zero-G Stall is also impressive, both from the park, where visitors can see the trains flying upside down, and from inside the ride. “Batman Gotham City Escape” is much more than a roller coaster; it’s a complete experience that combines storytelling, theming, immersion, intense emotions, and surprise.

The drones represented iconic elements of Batman, such as the hero himself, the Batmobile, and the Joker’s cards.

Attendees couldn’t take their eyes off the show, marveling at the lights and synchronized movements. As the drones drew their shapes in the sky, fireworks joined the party, filling the air with bursts of colors and dazzling flashes. Fireworks exploded in the sky, creating a spectacle of lights and sounds that reflected on the astonished faces of the audience.
The finale of the show was the perfect climax for the night. The fireworks reached their peak, filling the sky with vibrant and bright colors. Attendees were amazed by the grand display of lights and sounds, and the atmosphere was filled with applause and cheers of excitement.
