Universal Studios Hollywood Filing Permits for Roller Coaster between Upper Lot and Lower Lot

According to the Los Angeles County permit site, Universal Studios Hollywood is performing a Geotechnical Investigation for project P409. This project includes the station of the ride, as well as the ride’s layout moving between the Upper Lot and Lower Lot.

The wording from Los Angeles County on the permit reads: “Geotechnical Investigation report of P409 project located in Universal Studios. The project includes the load/unload building and an outdoor coaster that starts from upper lot and will descend toward the lower lot along the hillside infront of the fire station 51 and back up and loop around the Starway Escaalator #1.

The style of roller coaster and opening timeline remain unknown, however, a Jurassic World-themed coaster was theorized in the past. More recently a potential (“drifting”) coaster themed to Fast & Furious has been rumored. Fire Station 51 is located behind the existing Jurassic World: The Ride on the Lower Lot.
