It seems to be absolutely gorgeous weather out in Southern California this weekend! After the wonderful sun-filled day at Universal Studios Hollywood yesterday, I woke up early to visit Six Flags Magic Mountain today! There are lots of things going on around the park. So many even that this update is separate from today’s New Revolution Update! The New Revolution Update is now LIVE on our site as well. A link is located below this update.
– Recently our images have popped up on other sites and forums, awesome that our coverage spreads, not so awesome that no one mentioned where they got the images from. We are totally fine with our audience using our images, BUT ONLY IF credit is given to californiacoasterkings.com. Thank you! –
As I mentioned above, the weather was perfect. A little breeze and crystal-clear skies. A good day to get a bunch of Twisted Colossus rides in! (More on Twisted Colossus later). Let’s just take a little hop-around look at the park. At several seating areas and dining locations the park has placed handicap-friendly new tables. Sadly these do not in any way match the tables they already have around these areas. Note the totally different style of tables in the right edge of the picture. Another prominent thing around the park? ENDLESS markings on the park’s paths. Starting across from Jet Stream with #1-4, all around Cyclone Bay, Mining Town, and Baja Ridge to the new Revolution. Here’s some pics: Seems like the park will be working on restoring a lot of the park’s paths in the near future. In fact one of the last marks I saw was marked somewhere in the 50s. Quite some work to be done apparently! Moving on to a very-possible 2017 project! The old Action Theater is being demolished, clearly at this point. Note that parts of the buildings/structures within are already dismantled. There’s a spider and a small crane inside, the theater is slowly being torn apart by them. Don’t forget this theater is very old and even housed dolphins in the 80s! If they indeed build the rumored Justice League Battle For Metropolis dark-ride here, I personally hope they give the Movie District the ‘Metropolis’ upgrade, and connect all of DC Universe with the Metropolis area, refurbishing the Sandblasters and old Colossus County fair that’s left in between. (Oh and turn Tidal Wave into Aquaman). Speaking of connecting DC Universe, let’s head over there. Green Lantern: First Flight doesn’t seem to be opening up anytime soon. The park is still awaiting a part to arrive/install for the ride to run. Meanwhile the park has placed these somewhat misleading signs. 😉 It sure looks pretty. Though it hurts like hell riding it 😛 More gorgeous weather shots! Sadly Jet Stream remains closed, just like all other water rides at the park. Would’ve loved to ride one today! Luckily there’s another classic Arrow in the area I got to ride, Gold Rusher! Btw, check out our Legacy of Arrow documentary review! I decided I may as well throw in some kick-ass summer blue-sky shots trough out the update! Here’s Tatsu! Orient Express… uhm I mean the Helpful Honda Express has reopened, with the completed repaint AND HONDA BRANDING. So exciting… not. (More in the New Revolution Update). What is actually exciting is… the Green Twisted Colossus train is now running! It runs very smoothly. Oh and the colors are absolutely to die for! Love it! That was it for this Six Flags Magic Mountain Update, everything related to the New Revolution and the New Six Flags Plaza will be found in the New Revolution Update. 🙂

Excellent update, as always. Any idea for crowds on Super Bowl Sunday?
It differs year by year (I usually step by on Super Bowl Sunday), but generally it’s a very quiet day at the park. With 15 minute lines max.
