The first Asia Coaster News update of the year is filled with exciting news from several countries! We’re excited to continue offering timely coverage of an array of notable projects throughout the continent!

MOTIONGATE Dubai and Bollywood Parks Dubai – Dubai, UAE
We’ll start this update with MOTIONGATE Dubai and Bollywood Parks Dubai. The Six Flags Dubai project included an array of contracted roller coasters and rides, including a GCI Wooden Coaster, an S&S Free Spin, a StarFlyer, a Maurer Rides Spinning Coaster and more. With the Six Flags Dubai project cancelled, these coasters have been swooped up by MOTIONGATE Dubai and Bollywood Parks Dubai. Construction photos of these rides in their new locations were released by Dubai theme parks and resorts – unofficial. You can click on each image and swipe to take an up-close look.
MOTIONGATE is already home to 5 coasters, including the Mack full-circuit shuttle coaster themed to the Hunger Games franchise. 
No big marquee Six Flags park is complete without a StarFlyer, still seems like a strange fit in the sandy deserts. 
Bollywood Parks Dubai is getting the Mack PowerSplash and the GCI Wooden Coaster. 
Both these parks are part of the Parques Reunidos portfolio. 
Over at MOTIONGATE, the Maurer Spinner is almost done. 
The spinner is called “Now You See Me: High Roller” and can be seen off to the left (white track). 
The S&S Free Spin is called John Wick: Open Contract. 
In the foreground the Capitol Bullet Train Mack Coaster can be seen, 
While it was contracted by Six Flags originally, we can only hope this Free Spin runs better than its US counterparts. 
It does look good!
Tokyo DisneySea – Arayasu, Chiba, Japan
Tokyo DisneySea is currently constructing their biggest expansion yet, home to a hotel and several major rides. Fantasy Springs will be home to attractions and worlds from Peter Pan, Frozen, and Tangled. Currently construction is well under way for the two marquee dark rides: Anna and Elsa’s Frozen Journey and a Tangled ride. Thanks to themeparx contributors for the below images. The addition of Fantasy Springs (see left side of image) will significantly increase the size of Tokyo DisneySea. 
The park’s newest “port” will take a naturalistic approach (like most of the park). 
This picture will help put the size of the area in perspective some more.

VinWonders Phu Quoc – Phu Quoc, Vietnam
VinWonders on the Viatnamese Island of Phu Quoc opened in 2014 as Vinpearl Land. In 2015 they added two coasters, one of which has already been retired. The park opened 5 more coasters in 2020 as they rebranded to VinWonders a vastly expanded theme park. The park is currently also constructing a beautiful aquarium in the shape of a sea turtle designed by Legacy Entertainment. Thanks to themeparx contributors for the below images.
