A magical journey through 4 new Christmas areas
Bellewaerde Park really went all in this year with the Christmas season. A major investment to bring the experience level closer to the Halloween season. From December 7th until January 5th, everyone can enjoy the fun rides and all the different lights added to the park. Within the existing themed areas, 4 new Christmas themes got added. Visit Santa in Santa’s Village, discover the Magic Forest with a fun family show, see giant snowglobes in Bubble Dreams and go to the Aztec Alps with plenty of winter themed attractions.
Santa’s Village
When entering the park via the main entrance, you immediately step into Santa’s Village. Here you find plenty of spots to take fun pictures with the whole family. You can also visit Santa in his home or King Lion near his beautiful castle covered in hundreds of lights. Typical winter food and drinks wait for you in the Christmas market such as glühwein and tartiflette. Fans will also notice a new effect on the madhouse of the park: House of Houdini. Look closely at the windows!
Bubble Dreams
The smallest Christmas area of the park adds some giant animated snowglobes near the lions viewpoint. Just like a small fairytale forest, children can spot the animated scenes right next to the animal exhibits.
While walking in this area, we spotted a new foodpoint near the Hampi attraction, replacing the previous one. A terrace next to the ride will give room for parents to watch their kids play on the beautiful playground in this area.
Magic Forest
My favorite area of the park this winter takes us to the normally Canadian area: Magic Forest. Within the real forest, you can find numerous of lights and giant mushrooms. Combined with the music, a mysterious area unfolds where you can do a relaxing stroll in the soothing atmosphere.
A new show, Lucioza, brings acrobatics to the park with family fun entertainment. A small firefly Lucioza falls from her nest and loses her lights. The creatures of the night come to help her find back her lights, but will she succeed?
Aztec Alps
Another major area with a christmas overlay is the Mexican area. Now called Aztec Alps has quite a few rides to enjoy, including the exclusive Aztec Roller. Instead of a classic ice skating rink, Bellewaerde offers a more sustainable solution with a rollerrink. Grab a pair of rollerskates and show off your skills on the floor, just like at the apres-ski. Nearby, the Huracan coaster got a christmas theme and they added a mirror maze for the winter season near the Boomerang. For the smaller children there is a Snowmen Playground and everyone can see a christmas film in the 4D theater: Sleigh Ride!
Every year, new parks decide to open during the winter and as themepark fans, we can only encourage it. These major investments for parks let us experience the park in the dark, full of lights & additional theming. Besides the water rides, you can do all the attractions at Bellewaerde Park as long as the weather allows it. No reason to doubt and head on over to this beautiful park to have fun and end the year with a blast! Visit www.bellewaerdepark.be for tickets and info.
