Wuhu was a spontaneous addition to the last tour through China, but it ended up being one of the best days of the trip: Fantawild Adventure Wuhu, Oriental Heritage Wuhu, and Squirrels Town kept the surprises comin’ and the good times rollin’.

It’s not every day that a spontaneous decision turns into an unforgettable adventure, but that’s exactly what happened when we ventured into the Wuhu area of parks in China. With three parks to explore and a day to spare, we embraced the thrill of the unexpected.

A Day of Thrills

We kicked off our journey at the Wuhu Fantawild Dreamland and Oriental Heritage Parks, home to the standout attraction of the day: the custom Gravity Group looping wooden coaster, Jungle Trailblazer. Sean remarked, “This wasn’t just like every other Jungle Trailblazer.”

Alex chimed in, stating, “I think this is probably the best one. It’s the only one with a unique layout of the looping variety.” With only five inverting wooden coasters in the world, and three being Jungle Trailblazers in different parks, Wuhu’s version truly stood out.

The Unexpected Joys of Flexibility

Our day was filled with excitement and challenges, but the flexibility of our itinerary allowed us to enjoy every moment. Sean shared, “We did get the major coasters that we wanted. I would have loved for the Qing Dynasty Dark Ride to have been open, but it happens.”

Despite the obstacles, Alex couldn’t contain his enthusiasm: “I felt like everything worked out for us… I just felt very lucky.”

What Makes Wuhu Special?

The Wuhu area isn’t just about the rides; it’s an experience that showcases the charm of lesser-known cities. Sean highlighted, “The theme park scene in Wuhu is surprisingly great because of these three parks.”

The first stop, Fantawild Dreamland, is a smaller and older park that still delivers charm. As Alex noted, “It was great… Anything that we do on this day is worth like a bonus because it wasn’t part of the original plan.”

Dark Rides and Unique Attractions

Among the attractions, the dark rides were a highlight. Alex remarked on the Magic Academy, a ride reminiscent of Harry Potter meets Chinese folklore. He described it as a blend of fun and cultural creativity, adding, “Wizards here are generally mean and bad people… it’s a very interesting interpretation.”

Final Thoughts

Our adventure through the Wuhu parks was a delightful surprise, filled with thrilling rides and memorable moments. If you ever find yourself in the vicinity of Hefei or Nanjing, don’t overlook the hidden gems that the Wuhu parks have to offer.
